We’ve just had another wonderful performance with our favorite cheer squad the Cock-Ts. The more shows we do together, the closer we become. It’s truly a match made in heaven.
What really made this show fantastic was having a large group of our students there. Guns, The Pounce, Lickety Split, J-Wow, Dutcharella, Maverick, and Ace were in attendance giving us much love and support. That’s the kind of love a gang like ours should have!
Thanks everyone for making it another special evening of dirty cheers and dirtier ropes.

While we here at SFCDD are aware that evolution is a myth totally unfounded and with no scientific evidence to back it up, we’d like to believe that we are learning, adapting and changing to suit our student’s needs like Cro Magnon Women. As the business gets older, we’ve seen the need for more high level spots and fewer beginner classes. To meet this need, we’re having tryouts!
On Wednesday, April 21st from 7:00 to 8:30pm, we will be hosting an All-Star tryout class. This class is intended as a refresher course for you to brush up on your skills and show us what you’ve got. We will be looking for drive, personality, rope skills and availability. During the class we will be looking at how you work together to get a sense of where you will fit in to the All-Star group. Please be aware that the availability of class slots does impact the number of people we can accept. This means we may not be able to fit you in right away. If you’ve got a group of people you like working with, let us know and we’ll see how we can accommodate that.
The dream is coming true. We will not be ignored. We are jumpers, hear us roar!
Kisses and razor blades,
Venomiss

SFC Double Dutch is growing up. And as we grow, we experience our fair share of Growing Pains. So to help ease ourselves into our awkward teenage years, we’ve made some changes to the structure of classes.
The All-Stars are moving into an elite world of their own. There will no longer be the option to sign up for All-Stars on your own. Students will need to email us directly and let us know they would like to join a team. We are going to be placing you on teams ourselves to help facilitate the structure and effectiveness of class time. This means you may need to wait to come to class until there are enough people for a team.
Also, there are no more Sunday classes! We have moved to Tuesday nights at Studio Gracia. Sorry to see Cell Space go, but I’m sure we’ll be back for events and such. There will be a new Level 1 starting on a Tuesday in the future, so keep your eyes open for the date announcement.
So happy to see our new Level 2 class kicking ass and taking names! It’s a wonderful time to be alive.

We had a lusty and somewhat frightful show last night at the Rockit Room where we performed with the ultimate in dirty cheerleaders, the Cock-Ts. What a fabulous combination it was. The show had the extremely popular and notoriously promiscuous cheerleaders facing the threat of a nerd zombie influenza. We jumped rope as nerdy Pee-Wee zombies and the crowd was absolutely fantastic! There were also scandalous performances by burlesque performers Dottie Lux, Bunny Pistol, and Chi-Chis DelFuego. The Cock-Ts are just wonderful girls and we hope to perform with them again. Thanks also to the people of the Rockit Room who helped make the entire setup a breeze. Photos to come.

Hopefully you’ve already noticed our new web site, rife with filth to offend the more delicate at heart. Thanks to Agility Graphics, Lauren “Rope Burn” Patti of the fabulous All-Stars, and our very own Venomiss for all the hard work. It pretty much kicks ass!
We have so much going on in the next few months and hope you can join us for at least some of it. Here we go:

http://www.treasureislandfestival.com/
10/22: SFCDD performs for the first time with the Cock T’s at the Rockit Room. More info TBD… http://cockts.com/
11/19: Our very first recital featuring our All Star students! We’re extremely excited to present the Dirty Birdies, the Brass Bitches, and Whip Trash at our first recital! We’ll fill you in on the details as they become available.

We shot a new double dutch video yesterday!!! We are in celebration mode. For 4.5 months we have been planning to recreate the scene in Pee Wee’s Big Adventure where he walks into a biker bar and has to dance to save his life. We, of course, are jumpin some sweet ass rope to save our lives.

During the shoot for our upcoming vid.
It was a 12 hour craze of hard work and drinking a LOT of beer and now we start the editing process. Dan Vigil gave us some serious directing skills plus he fiiiiiine, and we were in disbelief at how generous everyone was in offering up their skills for our ridiculous project. A HUGE thanks to everyone who helped including the following students: Mad Hops, T-Ropes (and her rad bf), Flux, and Ce Ce DeVille. We’ll have a premier party as soon as it’s finished!

We ain’t no babies. For the last year we’ve been trying to take a sport that’s mostly done by children, introduce it to the chic young professionals of SF, and fend off the haters. It’s been an uphill battle and our skin is decidedly thicker going into our second year but we feel stronger…almost sprouting the beginnings of a gang.

SF rope gang...
Our gang grows in numbers day by day and we want to celebrate and bring all the new faces together for a filthy dance party in the sweaty basement of the SFCDD headquarters at 214 Clara St. on Friday, May 29th. Bring anyone who dares to challenge Death Valley to a dance off. Check our calendar for more info closer to the date and sign up on our mailing list:

The jumping jezebels lived it up like true celebrities on October 19th at the Walzwerk anniversary party in SF’s Mission District. After what I can only assume was a keg’s worth of German ale, Switchblade was said to have been falling down like Jenna Bush at a frat party. Looks like little Switch got a little dizzy and ended up with a bump on her head.
After Venomiss slapped a patron of the party, all 3 raging ropers fled the restaurant in a cab. This blogger hopes at least that the driver got away without a scratch.

Hey all, it’s Switchblade here about to tell y’all a tale of good will that’ll bring a tear to your eye. Some folks call me cheap, some call me thrifty, others just call me a financial savant. It’s true, I like to wheel and deal and yes, I have been known to call the Financial District the FiDi.
One day, I was talking to a very nice bartender who is a skateboard photographer. I told him that he should do a photo shoot for us and he said we could never afford him. I was drinking beer from my very stylish SFCDD beer koozie and he commented on how bad ass it is.
I then traded the koozie for a full photo shoot. Yep, it’s true.

The Whole Fandamily!
As a thank you to Brad the Outstanding Bartender, I sent him a rap by the oh-so-talented Rap Master Maurice:
Listen Up Fools, Click It!
You can check out the rest of the goods HERE and a huge thanks to Brad Burt!
